This course consists of three phases:
Theory Course
Flight Training
Skills Test
1. Theory Course
This course covers all aviation-related subjects required to provide you with sufficient knowledge and a good understanding to pass your final theory exam.
The course is divided into different modules with linear progression. After each module, you will be required to pass a Mock Exam to proceed to the next module. The Mock Exams can be taken an unlimited number of times, and you will be able to review the questions/answers upon completion.
Once all the modules have been completed, you will proceed to the Final Exam.
The Final Exam needs to be written at our office (Approved CAA Exam Centre) or an Approved CAA Exam Centre near you (Contact Us to find an Approved CAA Exam Centre near you)
Once you have passed the exam, you will be able to download your Theory Course Certificate. Afterward, your Flight Training will commence, and one of our instructors will arrange your Flight Training dates.
Please note that an additional fee will be charged when exceeding more than 1 re-attempt on your final exam.
2. Flight Training
Flight training is conducted at our approved Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) field.
The training duration varies from person to person and ultimately depends on the weather, your experience, and flying abilities.
During the flight training, a ProWings instructor will complete a series of exercises with you, including map reading, pre- and on-site planning, drone assembly, and drone flying.
Once you are competent in the different exercises, a senior instructor will conduct an evaluation flight to issue you a letter of recommendation (LOR), which is required for your RPL skills test.
3. Skills Test
The skills test is conducted by an approved CAA designated examiner (DRE). The skills test consists of two parts: a ground evaluation and a practical flying part. During the ground evaluation, the designated examiner will test your theoretical RPL knowledge, and during the practical flying, your flying abilities will be tested. You need to successfully complete both parts to be issued a remote pilot license.
