Fixed Wing Rating Course

Description

This includes all Online Theory for the Fixed Wing Rating Course & all Flight Training.

Important:

• A Multi-Rotor RPC is required

Course Duration:

• Theory – 2 Days
• Course Completion – 1-2 Weeks (Estimated)

This course consists of three phases:

1. Theory Course
2. Flight Training
3. Skills Test

1. Theory Course

• This course covers all aviation-related subjects required to provide you with sufficient knowledge and a good understanding for the Fixed Wing Rating.

2. Flight Training

• Flight training is conducted at our approved South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) field in Hekpoort, Gauteng.
• The training duration varies from person to person and ultimately depends on the weather, your experience, and flying abilities.
• During the flight training, a ProWings instructor will complete a series of exercises with you, including map reading, pre- and on-site planning, drone assembly, and drone flying.
• Once you are competent in the different exercises, a senior instructor will conduct an evaluation flight to issue you a letter of recommendation (LOR), which is required for your skills test.
• 2 hours Simulated Flight Training
• 3 hours Flight Training

3. Skills Test

The skills test is conducted by an approved SACAA designated examiner (DRE). The skills test consists of two parts: a ground evaluation and a practical flying part. During the ground evaluation, the designated examiner will test your theoretical knowledge, and during the practical flying, your flying abilities will be tested. You need to successfully complete both parts to be issued a fixed wing rating.

SACAA Requirements – Please note that you are responsible for obtaining the following before or during your training:

• Restricted Radio Telephony License
• English Language Proficiency Certificate
• Aviation Medical Class III
